Are there two separate application forms for EMJM scholarships and for self-funded candidates?

No. The application for EMJM scholarships and for self-funded candidates must be unique. EMLDS offers 25 vacancies for this cohort. The first 15 students ranked will be awarded EMJM scholarships.

Does the EMLDS have quotas for students from designated countries?

No. However, according to European Commission rules, EMLDS must ensure a balance in the geographical dispersion of its students. No more than 10% of the total number of scholarships should be awarded to students from the same nationality.

What Bachelor (or equivalent) degree do I need to be eligible for the EMLDS?

There are no requirements for a specific programme.

If I have not completed my bachelor, can I apply?

To apply for the European Master in Linguistic Data Science, applicants must have completed a bachelor’s degree from a recognized higher education institution by January 30th, 2026.

Is there an application fee?

No.

Will I get visa assistance?

Yes. We will provide all the required documentation and inform the embassies that you are a selected student for EMLDS.

When should I apply for a visa?

The moment you accept your position in EMLDS.

Will I have accommodation support?

The support given towards accommodation is provided in the form of information on available opportunities and the procedures for university accommodation application.

Is there an age limit for the programme?

No.

Are there certain countries that are eligible (or not) for the programme?

No.

If my application is incomplete, will I have the possibility of providing or updating documentation after the deadline?

Please read and ask us your questions careful and timely manner. Changes in the application package after the deadline will not be accepted.

If I am selected for an EMJM scholarship within the Master, will I receive the stipend before my arrival?

No. Scholarships will be processed upon signature of the Student Agreement. The Student Agreement will be signed on the first day of classes at NOVA or at UNICATT. The stipend payment will be processed within 15 days.

If I decide to accept a position as a self-funded student, will I be able to apply for an EMJM Scholarship within the duration of the Master?

Scholarships are limited, and students who opt for the self-funded modality cannot apply for the EMLDS scholarship throughout the EMLDS duration.

I have been an EMJM scholar in the past. Can I apply for an EMJM scholarship within the scope of EMLDS?

According to the European Commission’s rules, EMJM scholarship alumni are not eligible for a second EMLDS scholarship.
