Lexicology

The defined learning outcomes for the seminar of Lexicology concern the development and improvement of skills in the area of Lexicology that allow students to understand and realize the function and relevance of the Lexicon within the Grammar, to comprehend the nature and complexity of lexical properties and to know the existent theories and models for their representation.

In particular, students should be able: 

a) to understand the object and goals of Lexicology, its application and the theoretical and empirical issues this subfield addresses;

b) to know different theories and models of Lexical Semantics;

c) to describe and model lexical units.
