Standards Applied to Lexicographic and Terminological Data

Upon successful completion of the seminar, students will be able to:

a) Understand the importance of standards and formats in lexicographic and terminological work, particularly in ensuring accuracy, consistency and interoperability.

b) Become familiar with a range of standards used in lexicographic and terminological practice.

c) Understand the different formats that support the interoperability of lexicographic and terminological data.

d) Apply relevant standards and formats to the design and development of digital dictionary resources, including data structure optimisation.

e) Model dictionary entries using different standards.

f) Apply acquired knowledge to concrete case studies and practical examples.
